Toodlepip Ciclosporin

AHHH so exciting!! I am FINALLY off Ciclosporin. After being on my Adalimumab injections for a minimum of 8 weeks (4 injections, though I think I ended up doing 5) I spoke with the IBD Team and asked when I could come off Ciclosporin. I wanted to see whether the Adalimumab was really working as well as I thought it was, without the help of Ciclosporin. Injection Time!

So having come off Azathioprine (the Night of Itchiness), I still needed to go on another medication to keep the Ulcerative Colitis stable. You can’t stay on Ciclosporin forever, so although this worked for me, I needed something else.  There are a few options but my consultant decided to put me on a biologic called Adalimumab (which I think is also called Humira?! Socialising with IBD

Socialising with IBD was always something that I felt a little stressed by. When I was in the hospital I was told I probably wouldn’t be able to drink much anymore and I would likely need to change what I was eating. Combine that with wanting to socialise with people and I felt that there were going to be some scary times ahead.  My first test of this was someone from Rugby’s birthday gathering where we were meant to be ordering a chinese takeaway to celebrate.
