Tropic

A little bit more on the Roadmap to Recovery, I have joined the Tropic cult! I was told that some of the medications that I would have to take could affect my skin. Many of them do things like create dry skin and eczema and it therefore became clear that I would need to engage with some proper skincare routine. I have been washing my face and moisturising for a while but I needed a little bit more…

I got in contact with a friend who is a Tropic rep and asked what she thought I should have? I still needed for the routine to be like super basic, I am not able a complicated routine as I don’t have the patience for it. I also already have sensitive skin anyway and I needed the products to take this into account.

My friend recommended that I go for the ABC skincare collection, unscented. This consists of a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. In the set I got you also get a facemask and I went for the ‘Deep Hydration’ mask. You should use the Cleanser, Toner and Moisturiser twice a daily (morning and night) and the mask is to be used once a week.

Tropic’s ABC skincare regime has been incredible for my skin. I have always had ‘problem’ skin, having been on Roaccutane when I was younger. Tropic has given my skin the moisture that it needed while not making it oily. It has become key to keeping my skin healthy and has become a key part of my self-care routine as well. Having a three step thing to do every evening and every morning has allowed me to take some time for myself!

Due to the medications that I have had to take, I have been told that I am more susceptible to skin cancer. The risk isn’t a massive increase however was stressed to me that it was really important that I took care of my skin when I was in the sun. From this I decided to also purchase some suncream from Tropic. I have used these a couple of times due to the wonderful British weather not being as sunny as I would like. When I was in hospital we had GLORIOUS sunshine, when I came out, torrential rain. Not impressed. Anyway, the suncream went on well, smelt good and didn’t make annoying streaks or anything. It had good coverage and all of those things and seemed to work as a suncream. I guess my only problem with it is that it is quite expensive when having to use it everyday but it is a bit of a rock and a hard place situation, you either pay the money for really good sun protection or you end up with increased risk of skin cancer, you choose!

Anyway, if anyone is thinking about trying Tropic, I would say, DO IT! Join the cult! I didn’t believe people when they said it was amazing, but I am truly a convert now!
