Crohns and Colitis UK

An incidental one really for anyone that might be looking for some support with either Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis. When I got diagnosed, as I have already said I spent a lot of time looking for information about Ulcerative Colitis. At the hospital I was signposted to Crohns and Colitis UK and I was not disappointed. The website is really informative about what both of the conditions are, and uses lots of language that is easy to understand. While this may seem juvenile, the last thing I needed while in the hospital was to be trying to understand medical jargon. This website puts it very clearly allowing me to understand what it meant when I wasnt at 100%.

It gives lots of different information including about different treatments, how the disease might affect you as well as positive stories from other people who have the condition. This has been particularly helpful as I have changed medication as I always have a reference point! In fact, the hospital will usually print off the webpages from the relevant medications and send them to me if they are changing!

The website is super easy to navigate and the charity as a whole have a helpline that you can call as well. I decided to subscribe to Crohns and Colitis UK especially in my first year of having the condition. So far i have been very impressed, they sent me my RADAR key and lots of information as well as information for my partner and family to be able to read.

Just a short post to say, if you are new to it then it is definitely worth a look! Crohnsandcolitis.org.uk is the site and they have facebook, instagram and twitter as well!
